LTS Group Launches Free Industry Training Programme to Strengthen Zambia’s Technical Workforce

LTS Group has launched a sponsored technical training programme at its LTS Training Centre, reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing a skilled, safety-conscious workforce to support Zambia’s growing telecommunications and infrastructure sectors.

The initiative provides free industry-accredited training to selected youths nominated by universities, colleges, government institutions, and recognized academic bodies. This structured selection process ensures that beneficiaries meet defined academic and professional standards aligned to current industry needs.

Building Skills That Support National Infrastructure

The programme forms part of LTS’s long-term workforce development strategy, designed not only to empower young professionals but to strengthen the broader ecosystem that supports telecommunications, construction, and critical infrastructure delivery.

LTS Country Manager, Ahmed Hameed, explains the strategic vision behind the centre:

“We are investing directly in the development of competent, safety-conscious professionals who can contribute meaningfully to national infrastructure development and the growth of the sector.”

The LTS Training Centre delivers certification programmes in key technical and safety disciplines including:

  • Health and Safety
  • Optical Fibre Installation
  • Work at Height for riggers and tower technicians
  • First Aid
  • Fire Fighting

According to Training Centre Manager, Wael Ibrahim:

“While the centre operates as a professional facility providing certification programmes to individuals and organisations, LTS has dedicated a defined number of sponsored training places specifically to support youth skills development.”

A Stronger Workforce for Stronger Projects

For clients and industry partners, this initiative represents more than corporate social responsibility — it demonstrates LTS’s proactive approach to ensuring project readiness, compliance, and operational excellence.

By investing in technical competence and workplace safety, LTS helps create a reliable talent pipeline capable of supporting large-scale telecom and infrastructure deployments across Zambia and beyond.

Partner with a Company That Invests in Capacity

As a telecommunications and infrastructure services provider operating in 20 countries across Africa and the Middle East, LTS understands that sustainable growth requires both infrastructure and skilled people.

Through initiatives like the LTS Training Centre, the company continues to align with Government’s digital transformation agenda while strengthening industry capacity for the future.
