Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer serves as the primary technical resource for the sales team and is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical advisor and product advocate, the Sales Engineer must articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. The Sales Engineer is also responsible for identifying and providing reliable solutions for all technical issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsbilities

  • Technical Sales Support: Provide pre-sales support including technical presentations, demonstrations, and solution design.
  • Product Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the company's products and their functionality.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Proposal Development: Assist the sales team in preparing technical proposals and quotations.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product management teams to share customer feedback and drive product enhancements.
  • Training: Conduct training sessions for sales team members on technical aspects of products.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Problem Solving: Identify technical issues and provide prompt and accurate solutions to customers.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including manuals and product specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sales, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a technical sales or customer-facing role for at least five (5) years
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and explain them in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of relevant software applications and programming languages.
  • Experience Sales force software.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English and French is a must.
