Fibre Network Construction
Committed to providing the highest quality fibre optic solutions

Fibre to the X

LTS Group deliver fully integrated solutions for fibre optics networks in Africa.

Our services start from design through to trenching, ducting, fibre blowing, splicing, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Point-to-point FTTx, GPON and EPON connections. Leasing of dark fibre can be negotiated on behalf of clients where available.

Today’s digital life is expanding and demanding high speed connectivity into more areas of society and business. The need for fiber-optic transmission is rapidly increasing to cope with the ever increasing bandwidth requirement driven by new advanced software applications which are required in our day-day lives.

LTS Group is a fast growing telecommunication company, actively involved in telecom equipment installation and infrastructure projects throughout Africa. We provide turnkey solutions meaning that all aspects of the project are catered for and professionally managed to ensure service quality and delivery commitment.

Turnkey Deployments

We are bringing the optic fibre as close to your business or home as possible. This is critical for network performance, user experience and meeting today’s complex data requirements.

LTS offers complete turnkey network solutions, end-to-end:

  1. Pre Survey
  2. Network Design
  3. ROW Permission
  4. Implementation
  5. Commissioning
  6. Network Startup
  7. Maintenance
We have deployed overground and underground fibre optic projects for our clients across Africa, with the world class standards that not only our clients would be proud of, but also avoiding future occurrences of fibre optic cable cuts. We are committed to providing the highest quality optic fibre services which has led us to acquire and employ the most advanced equipment, applying unique and the best standards in the telecoms industry.

FTTx

LTS Group offers implementation and maintenance of all FTTx categories – FTTH, FTTO, FTTC, FTTB…etc. These can be point to point (P2P) or point to multiply point by using (EPON,GPON ) solutions.

The team provide relevant site documents, operational support, customer care management, systems integration, value added service platforms. All work is conducted according to internationally accepted standards. We are able to maintain high standards by a process of continuous improvement, and utilising the experience of serving a diverse client requirement and implementing a range of different equipment.

All links are delivered in a timely manner by our team who are experienced in FTTx design, cost effective network optimisation with a wide range of optic fibre products, network integration, testing and commissioning.

Dark Fibre

LTS offers leasing of dark fibre that can be negotiated on behalf of clients where it’s available.

Trenching is conducted according to internationally accepted standards with regard to restitution and public safety.

Cables are professionally blown into ducts, spliced and commissioned according to industry accepted practice.

Fibre Planning Services

The LTS planning team have years of experience with hundreds of projects designing network routing for the optimum client solution.

The correct choice of route is the most important aspect of planning an underground cable system. When done properly, this will reduce the cost of laying pipes, keep the pipes safe from damage, and attain their maximum utilisation when they have been laid.

Preliminary Survey – A preliminary survey is carried out to allow the drawings for the optical fibre routing to be finalised. One of the objectives of the pre-survey is to determine where each reel of fibre optic cable is to be placed. Slack locations and cable storage requirements must also be considered along with splice locations. The pre-survey will verify construction methods, special tools required, or possibly require a revision of preliminary splice locations.

Connectivity Survey – showing cable distribution

As-Built Document – This is an important document that shows end result of the project layout. It is used for documentation and maintenance purposes and is one of the major documents to be handed over to the maintenance team.

Fibre Optic Maintenance

Fibre optic networks are vulnerable to environmental influences, contamination and mechanical stress arising from improper handling of fibre cables and connectors which can harm the transmission properties enormously, therefore selection of the company to maintain the optic fibre with the best engineers is vital.

LTS is a market leader in optical fibre maintenance. We maintain the metro and backbone fibre networks of both Airtel and MTN all the time 24/7/365, managed by corrective teams and preventive teams.

Preventive maintenance includes optical fibre testing and regular cleaning of the optical transceivers and optical connectors. The objective of preventative maintenance is to keep the network operating in a stable and normal status, preventing the emergence of pressure points and abnormal losses, doing routine maintenance and monitoring continuously.

The objective of corrective maintenance is to resume the connectivity of network after the fiber cable is damaged or broken. The on-site repair whould include splicing, termination of fibre cable or laying new fibre, rerouting etc.

LTS have built the first Optical Fibre Monitoring Center using the new technology, Fiber Guardian, which enables us to deliver the highest service level in terms of quality and fast response, and as a result, we’re maintaining the fiber network of the two of the largest operators in Zambia.

Our engineers are highly-trained with many years experience in the fibre optic industry working on many projects across the African continent. LTS has capability to send teams of experts to cover then entire network, restoring outages within SLA time, maintaining network up-time, and exceeding expectations with the reliability of managed service.

Fibre Network Auditing & Supervision

Network auditing is a must for any organisation, particularly MNOs and ISPs that have expansive networks, often built progressively by different suppliers, that are always expanding. Keeping accurate and current network documentation is critical to solving operational challenges, planning for new services and maintaining business continuity.

We perform network audits to ensure the network is built and functioning as expected with detailed reports of issues and design improvements. Network auditing is a process in which your network is mapped both in terms of software and hardware. The data is gathered, vulnerabilities and threats are identified, and a formal audit report is sent to network administrators.

In addition, LTS Group supervise fibre networks on behalf of the operator. This is particularly useful where different suppliers are responsible for different aspects, or different geographical areas of the network. We provide a trusted, independent and transparent service that analyses, manages and reports on network performance.

Recent Projects

Lusaka to Livingstone

We recently deployed optic fibre of 573 km from Lusaka to Livingstone on behalf of MTN and Airtel.

Project pole installation and cabling has been completed and awaits permit for an optical distribution frame ODF installation from our client.

Although we had challenges with third party material delivery we still managed to execute within the project plan.
